CPD Chicken Protein Drink

You know that a high protein diet is the best way to get muscular and toned. But perhaps you’re busy and don’t spend enough hours working the pads at your MMA gym, or don’t have the time or budget to cook a balanced weekly meal plan. CPD (Chicken Protein Drink) is a protein drink that provides you with 43g of protein per bottle. Made with chicken breast meat and coming in three yummy flavors, it’s easy to use as a dietary supplement for getting stronger, healthier, and having more energy.

Protein shakes are great, but there are so many that just don’t taste good, or the ingredients are hard to understand. This drink is much more than that – it’s delicious, it’s convenient, and it’s as easy to use as water. Just shake and drink.

I’m a health nut and am always looking for the best sources of protein. I’ve tried all the proteins you can think of, and none of them compare to CPD. It is just so easy to get a shake in the morning, before or after my Muay Thai workout and it tastes great too!

The best protein powder is the one you’ll actually use. Protein powders can be extremely expensive and a waste of money if they end up in the back of your cupboard. Different protein powders can have different effects on your body, so it’s best to experiment with a few different types until you find one that works for you.

Liquid chicken protein is an emerging source of high-quality protein, and it has been shown to be more beneficial than other sources like soy or beef. For example, liquid chicken proteins are made of 100% natural chicken breast and are easier to digest than other proteins, which makes them perfect for those who are sensitive to dairy products or eggs.

Nutritional information: CPD Chicken Protein Drink

CPD is obviously intended for people who wants to increase their protein intake, so let’s take a closer look at that.

When it comes to protein intake, the average consumption should be around 0.8g per kilo, but it can increase dramatically up to around 2g per kilo when you are trying to build muscle.
As much as I would like to say that I am on my perfect weight, since that would make it feel like I am a more valid source of information on nutrition and fitness, I’m afraid the pandemic took its toll on me and I should be dropping a few pounds. Right now I’m around 80 kg, so my daily protein intake should add up to around 160g, since I am on the bulking phase of my fitness program.

Do you know how hard it is to get 160 g of protein in your diet? A single chicken breast has 31g of protein, an egg 13g. If you have been on a high protein diet before, you know how tiring it can get having the same meals day after day even if you are not hungry just to get to that magic point. Eggs and chicken, chicken and eggs, the occasional tuna can. And this tiny little bottle promises to deliver up to 43g of protein? Sign me up.

Nonetheless, if we take a look at the list of nutrients, there’s an alarmingly high amount of cholesterol. If your cholesterol levels are higher than usual, you should probably speak with your endocrinologist before getting involved in a high protein diet.

Pros and Cons

Claims and potential benefits of CPD Chicken Protein Drink

According to the company, the product is fully sterilized, allowing it to have a 12-month shelf life and has also gone through thorough tests and research. That becomes handy because they offer packs of six bottles.

Its nutritional use has ben certified by several agencies such as F0 (level 6), Halal Certification, Lab reports, HACCP Certification, Good Manufacturing Practice Standards and are currently awaiting to receive the GMP export certificate.

Always according to its website, the company claims that the drink is made with real and lean chicken breast, and they are pretty clear when it comes to assure that there are no other parts of the chicken used in the making of the beverage. That’s something to take into consideration, since several studies have shown that chicken breast is one of the most protein packed meats on the market.

One of the main claims that CPD has in comparison with other protein powder supplements is that it is made from whole foods. That is a huge selling point, since some of the protein supplements are made with synthetic proteins that are neither fully absorbed and– in some cases – not even accepted by our bodies.
The fact that the protein content of this drink comes completely from whole foods is, in our opinion, the best-selling point that they have.

How to use CPD as an MMA Protein Supplement?

As we stated before, one of the main benefits of having a pre-made protein drink is that you don’t have to be stirring, mixing or preparing your protein supplement.

We found it so convenient having your smoothie already sorted out. Forget about all the cumbersome process of measuring your powders and mixing it with the exact amount of liquid. No one has time for that! Just grab your bottle from the fridge before going to your MMA gym.

Even though the shelf life is up to a year, we would always advise you to store at least the one you’re going to drink that day in the fridge. It is just more pleasant to drink when it’s cold.

CPD chicken protein drink flavors, namely triple chocolate, butterscotch and caramel macchiato

How does CPD Chicken Protein Drink taste?

CPD comes in three different flavors, Triple Chocolate, Vanilla and Caramel Macchiato.

Being completely honest, the taste is not the best feature of this product. We tried the three flavors and we can definitely say that chocolate is our favorite, maybe because it is stronger than the other two and makes it more palatable.

We are not saying that it is disgusting to drink, far from that, but if you’re expecting the regular flavor of a smoothie, you will be thoroughly disappointed. We can’t help but feel that it tastes somewhat artificial, like they threw in a ton of chemicals just to cover the taste of the chicken instead of making it a tasty drink.

Both the Vanilla and Caramel variations are nice. And maybe your palate is more used to these flavors. Our advice would be that you buy one of each and then decide which one would be your favorite.

We are sticking to the chocolate version, but for some people it is good to have a variety of options. We all know it can get really boring to have the same smoothie day after day But even so, in our opinion the chocolate version is best and we’d rather stick to it.

When to consume CPD for Muay Thai or MMA?

A protein shake is a good option between meals, either as a snack or around your workout. Depending on your fitness goals, you may want to consume it at a particular time of day.
If your goal is to lose weight, a high-protein diet can help raise your metabolism and at the same time this drink would be more satiating so it will keep your hunger in check.
A high protein diet reduces your levels of the hormone ghrelin- the one that sends a signal to your brain telling that you’re hungry and you should start raiding your pantry!
So consider drinking CPD between meals to help curb that hunger.

We all know that protein is key to help build muscle, and if that’s your goal, you should be ingesting protein right after your workout. This is when your muscles are starting to repair themselves from the stress you put them through and will benefit the most from the protein intake.
If you are more into endurance fitness, you can benefit from drinking CPD even during exercise, although we don’t really see the point of bringing a bottle of CPD to your next marathon.

Consider using it right after your long runs or your resistance training to enhance both muscle recovery and performance.

Recommended serving of CPD

CPD comes in really convenient mono dose bottles that will give you up to 46 g of lean protein in just one sitting. This is more than enough to supplement a well-balanced diet and you should always aim to acquire most of your nutrients through your regular meal plans.

Although CPD is marketed as a meal replacement among other things, we wouldn’t advise to use it as a substitute for real food. Even though it can provide your diet with a really drastic boost in protein, you will always need to eat a healthy, diverse and whole food-based diet to get the different key nutrients your body needs to work at its best.

Potential Dietary Issues

We always advise to reach out to your endocrinologist before any drastic change in your diet, and this is no exception. While CPD comes in really convenient packages, you should always speak to your physician if you have any underlying issues.

It is obviously a product that won’t appeal vegetarians or vegans, but on the other hand it is Halal certified. So, all of you halal-friendly folks out there can drink it with no issues.
If you are concerned about your cholesterol levels or if you experience high blood pressure our advice would be to be really cautious when it comes to this type of product. Both cholesterol and sodium levels might be too high for your condition.

Alternative Protein Supplements you might consider

CPD is a groundbreaking product since its protein comes completely from whole foods. That is a huge advantage compared to the usual protein supplements that may rely on synthetic protein that your body won’t be able to assimilate as easily as lean chicken.

But if you have dietary or health issues, you always can stick to your regular whey protein powder. Even if it can be more cumbersome to prepare and consume, it will always be a safe bet.
And as we already stated, please don’t use any supplement to replace a healthy, well-balanced diet.

Our Verdict: CPD Chicken Protein Drink for MMA or Muay Thai

CPD is probably the next step in protein supplements and consumers might not be ready for it yet. We can testify that its benefits outweigh the initial reluctance that popped up the first time we heard about it.

Yes, it is liquified chicken in a bottle. And yes, it may sound gross. But our eating habits are constantly evolving. We are pretty convinced that if you try it, it will change the way you look at protein supplements in the future.
